Premiere Pro: Chance Encounter 2

This week we planned, filmed and edited a video about a chance encounter on a park bench.

Our groups idea was to have a man eating a sandwich, while sitting on the bench, then getting robbed of his bag.

We drew a storyboard of our idea and then had a go at writing a script, synopsis and treatment for it.

The next day we filmed the video. We first found a suitable location, then set up the tripod for the camera. After this we did a practice of the first scene and then did the whole thing. On reflection we should have said what we were filming, before saying action, so the audio and video could be synced more easily and so we could identify what the audio clips were. I was acting as the robber in the video and I think I could have done a better job at acting. Overall, though I think the video turned out ok, since the result was quite entertaining once edited.

When editing I made the mistake of working on the videos before syncing the audio, this made it more challenging. Another challenge was finding the correct audio, for example for the starting clip I couldn't find the matching audio so I had to use a similar one instead. The way to sync the audio is to either use the syncronise tool within premiere pro, or to do it manually by looking at the sounds and then lining them up. Alt+leftarrow/rightarrow was helpful to move the audio over very slightly.
