After Effects: Lesson 2
Continuing on with the planet composition.
We added a heatwave effect, using two masks in an adjustment layer to make the effect appear around the sun. The effect we used was the wave warp effect. We also used to fill effect before this so that we could see the masks.
We then added turbulent displace to the text (evolution = Time*600) to make it appear as though it was also warped by the sun.
We also animated an astronaut floating across the screen.
We then added the tv image. Used masks to remove the parts we didn't need (background and screen).
We then added a cornerpin tool to the space composition layer. This allowed us to resize the screen so that it fits in the area of the tv screen, so that it looks like it is on the tv.
After this we grouped the tv with the space comp and animated a zoom in. We animated the background with 30% less zoom for the 'Parallax effect' Which is where things that are further away look like they are moving slower.
We then added a screen glare or static effect and then had a go at making some text animations using masks.
To do this we created a new comp and added two lines of text and a line (rectangle) between them.
We then added shapes over the text layers and animated them moving from the other side of the screen horizontally. We added A.inv track matte effects to the text so they are not visable at the start and appear from the middle.
We also animated a bouncing ball using the graph editor.
