Animate: interactive poster
3d Printer In Cartoon Style Isolated On White Background Typography Symbol Stock Vector Illustration Web Stock Illustration - Download Image Now - iStock (istockphoto.com) I made a backdrop and the moving parts seperately and then made the moving parts into their own symbols so that they could be animated. I also added a green subtle flashing light when it is moving. I used a classic tween to make the parts move. I first moved both parts down and then moved the smaller part back and forth. I had to remember to add keyframes to both parts though and to keep the movements the same so that it looked robotic. Overall I was happy with the outcome. I then edited the 'test' animation of something getting printed so that it used a traced image of a 3D printed heart from 3D Printing of Personalized Thick and Perfusable Cardiac Patches and Hearts - Noor - 2019 - Advanced Science - Wiley Online Library and so that the animation is in time with the 3D printer animation. I also added some text: |
How are 3D printed hearts helping families with heart problems? (bhf.org.uk)
I also made a page for 3D printed food. To do this I duplicated the printing animation and changed the heart into a broccoli. For this I couldn't find the sort of image I wanted so I just made some broccoli using animate.

I made another page on dollhouses where I had an animtion between an image of a dollhouse and a pixelated version of the image. To do this I brought a sketched image of a dollhouse (That I drew, with inspiration from these dollhouses : clipart doll house 10 free Cliparts | Download images on Clipground 2022) into Illustrator and traced it. I then brought it into animate and coloured it. I then took a screenshot of the dollhouse and brought it into photoshop to pixelate and then brought it back into animate to bitmap trace. Overall the animation did not turn out exactly how I had in mind and also I think the doll house could have been better. However, it does show the sort of idea I was going for.
Finally, I made a page for drones. Like with the dollhouse I traced a sketch (which I drew and was inspired by the research pages I looked at) in illustrator and brought it into animate. To make the propellors move I made an animation and flipped them so that it looked like they were rotating. I also made two different versions of the drones, one with a medicine box? and the other with a camera. By complete accident I had left one frame of the box in the camera animation and it made it look like the camera was taking a picture, I liked the effect so I edited it so that the flash was not red. I also added motion tweens to make the drones fly.

Overall, I am happy with how the interactive poster. I think there are some things which I could have improved like maybe a different main page layout, a better 3D printed food image and maybe adding a way to stop the animations when you are trying to read. However, I think the final outcome is effective and interesting, and it was nice problem solving.
