After Effects: Lesson 4/5

 3D cube button to change layers to 3D objects. 


 Button in the bottom right which allows you to change from 1 view to 2 views and vice versa. You can also change which view is being shown. 
Z-axis can change which object is in front regardless of the hierarchy. 

C enables camera tool. Press C again to change the camera tool. (Active camera = like game view in unity)

Right-click, new camera. Can animate camera. 

Can animate the 3D path the same way as with a 2D path (Top view is helpful for this).

Can edit camera settings like zoom and depth of field. These can be animated too. 

Point(light comes from a point like an orb) spot(A directional light) parallel(Works a bit like sunlight, can be moved around a point) and ambience (Can change colour) lights. You can use multiple lights at the same time. 

Enable shadow casting. 

Can edit the material of objects so that they are shiny.

Can make the camera's parent a null to indirectly animate the camera ( this makes it easy to change an animation to a different one).

2 node camera has a point of interest (pivot point) The camera follows the point of interest. Allows you to enable depth of field. 

Increase aperture or blur level to your liking. You can also link focus distance to a layer, so that that layer is always in focus.

Tracking = Tracker on the right menu.

Track motion, Set tracking points, add null called tracking point and then edit target so that it is the tracking point layer. Click the play button to analyse and then click apply to x and y. (This adds keyframes). Add logo. 



Plane = Effect > Mocha AE.

3D tracking =  Effect > 3D Camera Tracker.


3D tracking -

Detailed analysis, lasso tracking points where the poster is. Make sure the video is NOT set as 3d and the active camera is showing. Click create camera and lasso points of the poster and add solid (Using right-click).
