I made a new scene to make my game within the Ruby's Adventure project. I did this because it would be easier to reference settings and reuse the scripts. Once I had made the scene I added some of the things I needed like the things for the camera and also the health bar UI.
I set up the tilemap and added some of the tiles. I also created a rain particle effect which I would use for some rain clouds.
I then went on to make some more assets like my own health UI and a tree. For this, I referenced the size and appearance of the Ruby's adventure assets. For the trees and other non UI assets (Not including the sprite), I made use of a Mosaic tool which pixelated what had made this made the lines less smooth and therefore they fitted in more with the design of the tilemaps and the sprite.

The health bar I made.

I could then add these assets to the game and set them up with colliders.
I then went on to make another water tileset (the opposite of the one I had made ) To be able to give the water more shape.
I also made a house for the end destination, for which I was inspired by the style of the house used in a game called "Find the Floofs" (Which is a puzzle-solving scavenger hunt game)

I then set up the house so that it would finish the game and added a timer which would time the player to see how long they take to finish the game. I did have a few errors but I fixed them by looking things up on google and also by using a bit of trial and error.
I then went on to set up the intro page. I created a logo and a play button by using the text tool and then drawing over the text. This made the text look handwritten but still a bit orderly, I had used this same technique for the logo I made for Ruby's Adventure.
I also added some clouds to the page, which I animated to move slowly across the screen. I also decided to add the cat sprite so that it was sitting on the play button. I then experimented with how I would add some text which would show after the player presses play. I first tried using a different scene but then discovered I could set the first button up so that it changes active states. Therefore I could set it up to hide the logo, first button and clouds and show the new text and new button. To this second part of the intro I added some trees and the cat sprite animated to walk. I had a little bit of trouble setting up this animation because I tried adding the animation from the game object sprite but this didn't work with the UI image sprite. Therefore I had to make a seperate animation.
I also animated the clouds that were in the game. At this point the game was at a working stage but there were still things I needed to/ wanted to add.
This included adding more trees to the scene and editing the tilemap. I also made a cat food sprite for a health collectable and I planned to add an NPC which would give the player a quest in order to progress. I made the NPC a statue and the other collectable a crystal.
I also made some other decorations like signs and plants.

The cat food asset I made which would be the health collectable. |

The crystal asset I made which would be used for the NPC's quest. |
 |
Some of the decorations I made, I later added a shadow to these to make them fit in more. I really like how these turned out since it was a simple way to add some more detail to the game using a second tilemap. |
 |
The sign I made to go outside the house to show that the cat lives in the house. |
 |
A sign to show the quest to collect 5 crystals, to give the player a reference for what they need to find. |
 |
A sign to show that the rain will lower the cats health. This sign didn't turn out the best since the red arrow doesn't show up as much as I thought it would. |
 |
The statue and stone I made. The statue is the npc and it's eyes glow green when you complete the quest. The stone is used to block the bridge and the statue cat moves the stone with magic?. |
The only things I had left to do after this were to set up the npc and the collectables and then add decorations and some sound effects and maybe some particle effects too. I could then go on to build my game and upload it to simmer and make a walkthrough video.
