Ideas for second semester- Independent Project

Since the intention of the independent project is to pick something you want to do and/or would enjoy doing, I thought it would be good to do something 3D since I enjoyed modelling for the game project.

I was thinking about the possibility of making an experience rather than a game, so focusing more on the atmosphere and surroundings which are aspects I would like to explore and improve on.

This made me think of making a VR game, however, I don't own a VR headset and I have only ever used the cardboard 360 VR which doesn't really give the experience of interacting with the surroundings, though that might not be necessary. And since I don't have much experience with VR it might be quite challenging, however in some way it could give me a fresh perspective on what I could do.

So I started looking at how you make a Vr game and found a Unity Learn course for VR and the example game looked really interesting. VR Beginner: The Escape Room - Unity Learn However I believe this tutorial requires a VR headset and controller.

I also found another Unity Learn for an educational VR experience: Building a Solar System Exploration with Zoe - Unity Learn This uses a plugin called Zoe.

I could maybe try to make a 360 video like this one Best VR 360 Video (Virtual Reality) - YouTube

I also found out that you can make 360 videos with blender, which might be more simplistic and would be more accessible for people without VR headsets. [2.9] Blender Tutorial: 360 Degree Video - YouTube

There are also lots of interesting things you can do in Blender like abstract animation loops: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SISGzE0bDRU

This could look really cool in 360 but this example is a bit complex and I wouldn't want to just copy from the video, but it is something I could try.
