In the next session working on this project, I made the cat character that would be buying the car, I gave them an animation that looked like they were thinking about buying it. I also animated their face slightly to match.
I also added some animated posters/screens in the background to make it look like a place that sells cars, one of these I made look like a race. I used classic tweens for these animations, but there was one that I had to simplify because it was a bit too distracting.
Another animation I added was money falling on the cat character, perhaps insinuating that they won some money and spent it on the car or just the fact they would lose money buying the car.
The next scene I worked on was the car driving, for this I had to make another symbol of the car where the wheels spin. To do this I had the middle of the wheels on separate layers and animated the spinning 180 then 360 degrees however this caused them to do 180 clockwise then back 180 anti-clockwise back to the start. To fix this I edited the animation graph and made the animation a straight line / rather than a v shape. I then made the characters for the car (which turned out ok, but I don’t think I got the perspectives right for them since the car is at a strange angle and I still wanted the characters visible. For the small cat character in the back, I added a simple animation that made them face the user when hovered over.
I also animated the background moving and added some details like a duck head and bunny ears to the bushes which move past. To make the background loop I separated it into two groups and made the group that was seen at the start move once it was off the screen so that it would be seen after the second group (in the exact same place) so that it would loop. I also made one of the bushes lift up and have eyes as if it was someone pretending to be a bush. I might adjust this if I have time because it doesn’t look how I intended it to.
